To coincide with this year's International Urban Sketches Week, we have invited two sketchers with different styles to demonstrate sketching Tokyo Tower.
The first is Hosouchikazunori (, who draws with delicate and precise lines. Hosouchikazunori has been featured in several books on sketching, including one by Seattle urban sketcher Stephanie Bauer.
The second is none other than me! ( Recently, I have given demos at events such as the Street View World Tour hosted by Eleanor Doughty ( I plan to challenge myself with a completely improvised sketch, using a style that draws as it is without any calculations. Will I be able to fit my Tokyo Tower on the screen? (lol)
Date and time: Sunday, May 5, 2024. Meet at the Zojoji Temple signal at 10 am. After that, move to the sketch location and conduct the demonstration.
The demo will last about an hour or so, finish before lunch, and then everyone will have a break for lunch to sketch, followed by a throwdown (presentation) at 2 pm.
